Let’s all take a moment to thank all the wonderful fathers out there. Those who raised us, taught us discipline and patience, and maybe even introduced us to all the cuss words we know today. But what about those wonderful men who aren’t necessarily fathers, but dog dads? My boyfriend, Alex, is a dog dad, and you best believe he isn’t getting excused from this holiday. For the first time this year, I decided to include him in on the fun with this Dog Dad Gift for Father’s Day.
You may think I’m crazy for doing this. But, I love holidays, my dogs and Alex, so it shouldn’t really come as a surprise that I wanted to have another day in the year to celebrate. Also, just look at how freakin’ adorable our babies are!
All I did was take their photos and find the right frame, so it’s not much of a DIY project. But for holidays like Mother’s Day or Father’s Day, it’s kind of hard when you don’t have children to help out with crafts. Or, maybe I had some creativity block. Either way, I still had lots of fun creating this gift and I can’t wait to share it with Alex for Father’s Day.
However, it still took quite a bit of effort to get the dogs to just sit still for a photo hahah. I wish you all could have seen it. I swear, if Juno was looking cute, Nellie made the worst faces. Or if Nellie was laying down and posing for the camera, Juno got excited and ran off or started eating grass. It took the help of my sister holding a dog toy behind my head for some good photos to finally happen. There was soo many funny blooper shots, that I have to show you all!
Oh man, I love these little goofs.
I want to wish all fathers, human-dads and dog-dads both, a very happy Father’s Day! Maybe you can make your dog-raising-partner a little photo gift. If you’re a dog dad or even a dog mom, send me photos of your pups to my Twitter or Facebook!
